another valentine's day has come and gone and i managed to be single yet again.
i've been single 3 years in a row for valentine's day.
it's amazing the timing i have.
but, i did kiss someone after midnight which means technically i had a valentine's day kiss. which is nice.
savannah, my single and fabulous new york friend invited me to a singles night last night. and after i finally got out of work, traumatised and on an empty stomache, i ended up at a bar full of singletons seeking to meet someone.
spent most of the night talking to savannah's friend, a nice if somewhat showy and drunk english guy whom i'd met a few months ago at drinks. we share a love of food and cooking so i suppose that's a good starting point. after some good conversation, drunken ravings and a sprinkle of flirtations we ended up at dinner with two others. a few bottles of champagne and wine later, he walked me home in a most gentlemanly fashion but i suspect chickened out when i said i wasn't going to invite him in. my bedclothes need a wash so there was no way i'd want him to come in.
still, we had a brief but nice smootch, following which for all i know he went back to the bar and picked up someone else (i am realistic!)
but it's nice to be back in the ballgame, even though i don't know the rules anymore...
